Peter Geoffrey Bostock was born on the 24 December 1911 and educated at Charterhouse, Godalming, Surrey; The Queen's College, Oxford, and Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1935 and worked for the Church Missionary Society as a missionary in Kenya (1935-1958). During his time in Kenya, Bostock was ordained as a Priest (1937), Canon of Diocese of Mombasa (1952), Archdeacon (1953-1958) and Vicar-General (1955-1958).
